15 Diet Tips

Best Diet Tip No. 1: Drink plenty of water or other calorie-free beverages.
People sometimes confuse thirst with hunger. So you can end up eating extra calories when an ice-cold glass of water is really what you need.
“If you don’t like plain water, try adding citrus or a splash of juice, or brew infused teas like mango or peach, which have lots of flavor but no calories,” says Cynthia Sass, RD, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.

Best Diet Tip No. 2: Think about what you can add to your diet, not what you should take away.

Start by focusing on getting the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
“It sounds like a lot, but it is well worth it, because at the same time you are meeting your fiber goals and feeling more satisfied from the volume of food,” says chef Laura Pansiero, RD.
You’re also less likely to overeat because fruits and vegetables displace fat in the diet. And that’s not to mention the health benefits of fruits and vegetables. More than 200 studies have documented the disease-preventing qualities of phytochemicals found in produce, says Pansiero.
Her suggestion for getting more: Work vegetables into meals instead of just serving them as sides on a plate.
“I love to take seasonal vegetables and make stir-fries, frittatas, risotto, pilafs, soups, or layer on sandwiches,” Pansiero says. “It is so easy to buy a variety of vegetables and incorporate them into dishes.”

Best Diet Tip No. 3:  Consider whether you’re really hungry.
Whenever you feel like eating, look for physical signs of hunger, suggests Michelle May, MD, author ofAm I Hungry?
“Hunger is your body’s way of telling you that you need fuel, so when a craving doesn’t come from hunger, eating will never satisfy it,” she says.
When you’re done eating, you should feel better — not stuffed, bloated, or tired.
“Your stomach is only the size of your fist, so it takes just a handful of food to fill it comfortably,” says May.
Keeping your portions reasonable will help you get more in touch with your feelings of hunger and fullness.

Best Diet Tip No. 4:  Be choosy about nighttime snacks.
Mindless eating occurs most frequently after dinner, when you finally sit down and relax.
“Sitting down with a bag of chips or cookies in front of the television is an example of eating amnesia, where you mindlessly eat without being hungry, but out of habit,” says American Dietetic Association spokesperson Malena Perdomo, RD.
Either close down the kitchen after a certain hour, or allow yourself a low-calorie snack, like a 100-calorie pack of cookies or a half-cup scoop of low-fat ice cream. Once you find that you’re usually satisfied with the low-cal snack, try a cup of zero-calorie tea, suggests Perdomo.

Best Diet Tip No. 5:  Enjoy your favorite foods.
“I think putting your favorite foods off limits leads to weight gain because it triggers ‘rebound’ overeating,” says Sass.
Instead of cutting out your favorite foods altogether, be a slim shopper. Buy one fresh bakery cookie instead of a box, or a small portion of candy from the bulk bins instead of a whole bag.

Best Diet Tip No. 6:  Enjoy your treats away from home.
When you need a treat, Ellie Krieger, RD, host of Food Network’s Healthy Appetite, suggests taking a walk to your local ice cream parlor or planning a family outing.
“By making it into an adventure, you don’t have to worry about the temptation of having treats in the house, and it is a fun and pleasurable way to make it work when you are trying to lose weight,” says Krieger.
And for those times you just can’t get out? Krieger stocks her kitchen with fresh fruit, which she thinks can be every bit as delicious as any other dessert.

Best Diet Tip No. 7:  Eat several mini-meals during the day.
If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you will lose weight. But when you’re hungry all the time, eating fewer calories can be challenging.
“Studies show people who eat 4-5 meals or snacks per day are better able to control their appetite and weight,” says obesity researcher Rebecca Reeves, DrPH, RD.
She recommends dividing your daily calories into smaller meals or snacks and enjoying as many of them as you can early in the day — dinner should be the last time you eat.

Best Diet Tip No. 8: Eat protein at every meal.
Protein is more satisfying than carbohydrates or fats, and thus may be the new secret weapon in weight control.
“Diets” higher in protein [and] moderate in carbs, along with a lifestyle of regular exercise, have an excellent potential to help weight loss,” says University of Illinois protein researcher Donald Layman, PhD.
Getting enough protein helps preserve muscle mass and encourages fat burning while keeping you feeling full. So be sure to include healthy protein sources, like yogurt, cheese, nuts, or beans, at meals and snacks.

Best Diet Tip No. 9:  Spice it up.
Add spices or chiles to your food for a flavor boost that can help you feel satisfied.
“Food that is loaded with flavor will stimulate your taste buds and be more satisfying so you won’t eat as much,” says Perdomo.
When you need something sweet, suck on a red-hot fireball candy for a long-lasting burst of sweetness with just a few calories.

Choosy about nighttime snacks.

10: Stock your kitchen with healthy convenience foods.
Having ready-to-eat snacks and meals-in-minutes staples on hand sets you up for success. You’ll be less likely to hit the drive-through or call in a pizza order if you can make a healthy meal in 5 or 10 minutes.
Sass stocks her kitchen with:
94% fat-free microwave popcorn (20-25 calories per cup, and you can make it in two minutes or less)
Frozen vegetables
Bags of pre-washed greens
Canned diced tomatoes
Canned beans
Whole-grain wraps or pitas
Pre-cooked grilled chicken breasts
A few containers of pre-cooked brown rice
Within minutes, she can toss together a healthy medley.

Best Diet Tip No. 11: Order children̢۪s portions at restaurants.
“When you are eating out, order a child’s pizza or a small sandwich as an easy way to trim calories and get your portions under control,” suggest Perdomo.
Another trick is to use smaller plates. This helps the portions look like more, and if your mind is satisfied, your stomach likely will be, too.

Best Diet Tip No. 12: Eat foods in season.
“If you don’t love certain fruits or vegetables, it could be because you ate them out of season when they have little taste or flavor,” says Pensiero. “When you eat seasonally, fruits and vegetables are more flavorful, at their best, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.”
At GiGi’s Trattoria, her restaurant in Rhinebeck, N.Y., she serves simple fruit desserts, like naturally sweet strawberries topped with aged balsamic vinegar, or low-fat yogurt or fresh berries in a compote.

Best Diet Tip No. 13: Swap a cup of pasta for a cup of vegetables.
Simply by eating less pasta or bread and more veggies, you could lose a dress or pants size in a year.
You can save from 100-200 calories if you reduce the portion of starch on your plate and increase the amount of vegetables.

Best Diet Tip No. 14: Use non-food alternatives to cope with stress.
Sooner or later, you’re going to be faced with a stressful situation. Instead of turning to food for comfort, be prepared with some non-food tactics that work for you.
Sass suggests reading a few chapters in a novel, listening to music, writing in a journal, practicing meditative deep breathing, or looking at a photo album of loved ones.

Best Diet Tip No. 15: Be physically active.
Although it may seem counterintuitive, don’t use exercise either to punish yourself for eating or to “earn” the right to eat more.
“When you do, it sets up a negative thought pattern, which is why so many people say they hate to exercise,” says May.
Instead, focus on how great you feel, how much better you sleep and how much more energy you have when you exercise. Physical activity is good for you whether you are trying to lose weight or not, so keep it positive and build a lifelong habit.

Toothache

Causes of Toothache

Tooth Decay, Consumption of Soft Drinks, Refined Carbohydrates and Sugar

The main cause of toothache is tooth decay, which results from a faulty diet. Perhaps the greatest cause of tooth decay is the consumption of candy, soft drinks, pastries, refined carbohydrates and sugar in all forms. Bacteria in the mouth breaks sugar down into acids, which combine with the calcium in the enamel to cause decay or erosion.

The key to effective toothache treatment is through an accurate and prompt diagnosis. There are various possible causes of toothaches and it would be careless to neglect the condition or attempt a self diagnosis. In some cases the cause may be obvious, but a visit to the dentist would be necessary. An oral examination will help pinpoint and verify the source of the toothache and could include the use of dental X-rays. At times a toothache may actually have a cause that does not originate from the teeth or jaws. At times a toothache and pain around the jaws may actually be indicative of heart diseases like angina or even a heart attack. Inner or external ear infections and sinus problems can also be responsible for such toothaches.
Under normal circumstances where the toothache causes actually stem from dental problems the main source of the pain is actually from inflammation of the tooth pulp, which is basically the central portion of the tooth. This region contains nerve endings, which is why there is a greater sensitivity to pain. This painful condition may be brought on by the presence of a gum or tooth infection, dental cavities, dental abscesses, tooth rot, cracked tooth syndrome or from trauma.

Treatment for any tooth pain will quite naturally depend on the cause of the pain and could involve a root canal, tooth extraction, the fitting of braces or dentures or filing or capping of teeth. Toothaches may at times be caused due to dental procedures themselves, such as a toothache after filling, and will usually pass but should always be reported to the dentist.

Home Remedies for Toothache

Remedies for Tooth Ache Using Garlic

Among the most effective home remedies for toothache is garlic. A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and, sometimes, may even cure it. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. It will cure the teeth making them strong and healthy.

Garlic does in fact hold a prominent place in traditional medicine and was even recommended by the great Hippocrates. It is included in most toothache home remedies and is very valuable because of it is inexpensive, easily accessible and offers effective toothache pain relief. Almost all traditional methods of toothache treatment with garlic involve crushing it, and applying or placing it against the affected tooth. Garlic may also very often be used with some other popular ingredients for toothache remedies like cloves or clove oil.

Although there is a lot of skepticism with good cause about the effectiveness of some home remedies it should be pointed out that the effectiveness of garlic is not inexplicable. Garlic contains a powerful compound called allicin, which exercises a powerful antibiotic effect. This compound is released upon crushing the garlic and it is believed that this could help slow down any bacterial activity. It should be stressed that this is not a cure however as garlic alone will not be able to halt or reverse dental decay or prevent further deterioration. In fact, all toothache remedies are meant to provide relief and are only temporary solutions that can not substitute medical treatment. Exercise caution when using garlic as it is quite strong and cause skin irritation.

Toothache Relief Using Onion

Latest research has confirmed the bactericidal properties of onion. If a person consumes one raw onion every day by thorough mastication, he will be protected from a host of tooth disorders. Chewing raw onion for three minutes is sufficient to kill all the germs in the mouth. Toothache is often allayed by placing a small piece of onion on the bad tooth or gum.

Onions are popular as traditional toothache relief treatment and you can simply place a slice over the affected area. Onions are high in sodium, rich in vitamins E and B12, and are low in fat or calories. Including onions in your daily diet and simply chewing on a few slices can help prevent and control toothaches.

Remedies for Tooth Ache Using Lime

Lime, as a rich source of vitamin C, is useful in maintaining the health of the teeth and other bones of the body. It prevents decay and loosening of the teeth, dental caries, toothache, and bleeding of the gums.

Eating a raw lime, along with the peel, can offer some much needed toothache relief. The effectiveness of lime for toothaches can probably be best explained by its rich composition of vitamin C and the lower levels of acidity as compared to lemons.

Toothache Cure Using Wheat Grass

The juice of wheat grass acts as an excellent mouthwash for tooth decay and cures toothaches. Wheat grass can be chewed with beneficial results. It draws out toxins from the gums and thus checks bacterial growth.

Wheatgrass does contain properties of a natural antibiotic, which can help offer some protection against bacterial infections of the gums and teeth.

Toothache Cure Using Asafoetida

The use of asafoetida has been found useful in curing toothache. It should be pestled in lemon Juice and slightly heated. A cotton swab should be soaked in this lotion and placed in the cavity of the tooth. It will relieve pain quickly.

Asafoetida has been widely used in traditional medicine since ancient times, particularly in the Indian sub-continent. You can fry some asafetida lightly in clarified butter to prepare it as a solution.

Toothache Relief Using Bay Berry

A paste of the bark of bay berry should be made with vinegar. This paste, applied on the affected tooth, will relieve the toothache. It can also be applied beneficially on the gums for strengthening them.

Cloves have been used to treat toothaches since ancient times and are included as an essential ingredient in almost all toothache remedies. Cloves are in fact included as an ingredient in almost all toothpastes and are therefore still the most widely used ingredient in dental care. The effectiveness of cloves can be attributed to a compound called eugenol, which is present in cloves. Eugenol is a powerful anesthetic that also possesses antiseptic properties. This means that it not only offers toothache pain relief, but it also helps fight off germs that could contribute to an infection.

Toothache Home Remedy Using Clove

Another home remedy for toothache is in the use of clove, which reduces pain. It also helps decrease infection due to its antiseptic properties. Clove oil, applied to a cavity in a decayed tooth, also relieves toothache.

Remedies for Toothache Using Pepper

A mixture of a pinch of pepper powder and a quarter teaspoon of common salt is an excellent dentrifice. Its daily use prevents dental cavities, foul breath, bleeding from the gums, painful gums, and toothaches. It cures the increased sensitiveness of the teeth. A pinch of pepper powder mixed with clove oil can be put on the cavities to alleviate the toothache.

Remedy for Toothache

Home remedies for severe toothaches work just like any other toothache medication or over the counter toothache medicines. Toothache remedies with salt water are quite a popular as home treatment for toothaches during pregnancy. Home remedies for toothache infections with oregano oil, garlic, clove oil, tea bags, and olive oil are also quite popular while pregnant.

Flatulence

Flatulence, or gas, is air formed in the intestines as food is being digested. Gas is passed through the rectum and can make a person feel bloated or experience abdominal pain or discomfort. Everyone has gas, and on average eliminate it about 14 times a day. Gas is made of odorless vapors, including carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen. The odor of gas comes from the bacteria in the large intestine that release gases like sulfur. Gas can make a person feel bloated or cause cramping in the abdominal area.

Causes of Flatulence

Gas can be caused by a number of things. Gas in the digestive tract comes from two places: swallowed air and the breakdown of certain undigested foods, not broken down naturally. Foods that are difficult to digest and often cause flatulence are carbohydrates, for example sugars, starches and fiber. Undigested food passes from the small intestine into the large intestine. In the large intestine, harmless bacteria break down the food producing certain gases, like hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and in some people methane. These gases exit the body through the rectum. Those people who produce methane do not necessarily produce more gas, or have different symptoms related to gas.

Food containing carbohydrates causes more gas, and foods with fat and protein cause less. The sugars that cause gas include raffinose, lactose and sorbitol. Raffinose, a complex sugar, is found in many vegetables including beans, cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, asparagus and whole grains. Lactose, found in milk products, is the natural sugar found in milk. Lactose can also be found in some processed foods like bread, salad dressing and cereal. Research has shown that lactose intolerance is found more commonly among the African, Native American and Asian ethnicities. These people have lower levels of the enzyme, lactase, which develops in childhood.

Fructose is found in onions, artichokes, pears and wheat. It is also used to sweeten fruit and soft drinks. Sorbitol, is a natural sugar found in some fruits including apples, pears, prunes and peaches. Sorbitol is also an ingredient used as artificial sweetener in “sugar free” candy and diet foods.
Starches also cause gas. Starchy foods that can cause flatulence include corn, pasta, potatoes and wheat. These food items are not easily digested in the large intestine. Rice, however, does not cause gas. Lastly, fiber also can be a key cause of gas. There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble fiber. Water can easily break down soluble fibers, found in oat bran, beans, peas and most fruits. Soluble fibers are not broken down until the large intestine. The delay in digestion can cause gas. On the other hand, insoluble fiber produces little gas as it does not change in the digestion process through the intestines. This type of fiber can be found in wheat bran and some vegetables.
However, foods that cause gas in one person may not affect the other. Take notes on what causes you to have gas and avoid those foods. The bacteria in a person’s stomach which can destroy the gases, like hydrogen, vary from person to person. The balance of bacteria is a contributing factor to the amount of gas a person experiences.

Gas can also be caused by swallowing air while eating. Eating or drinking too fast, chewing gum and smoking are all ways to swallow more air. Certain foods and swallowing air are two common ways to have flatulence. However, some people experience gas because of other more serious concerns. Lactose intolerance, or the intolerance of dairy products, can cause one to have excessive gas. Persons with irritable bowl syndrome, or IBS, also suffer from excessive gas. IBS is a chronic stomach disorder, and can worsen with increased stress. IBS is a complex disorder of the intestinal tract that causes disruption in bowel habits often resulting in constipation and diarrhea. Another more serious cause of flatulence is malabsorption problems. This is caused by a body’s inability to absorb or digest certain nutrients properly. Malabsorption is usually accompanied by diarrhea.

Cures and Treatment of Flatulence

To avoid gas, keep these few remedies in mind. Eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. Relax while eating. Avoid the foods that cause discomfort as mentioned earlier like beans and carbonated drinks. Also, try taking a walk after eating for 10 or 15 minutes to increase digestion. It also helps to drink a soothing tea like chamomile or peppermint after a meal to avoid gas. Changing your diet can be a key way to avoid gas as well.

Over-the-counter medicines work well to cure excessive gas and prevent gas as well. Antacids and digestive enzymes are the most common nonprescription, over-the-counter remedies. Antacids contain simethicone, which combines with gas bubbles in the stomach to remove the gas.

For those who have problems digesting lactose, the enzyme lactase, can help and is also available over-the-counter. Taking or chewing lactose tablets is recommended before meals to help digest those foods while eating. Lactose-free milk products are also available, and can be a good solution to avoid gas. Another recommended remedy is Beano, which contains an enzyme to help digest sugar found in vegetables and beans. Beano is taken before meals as well. If you are having more chronic problems, it could be attributed to a more serious problem, like IBS, and you should see a doctor. Prescription medicines are available to tackle the excessive gas sometimes caused by IBS. You should call your physician if you are having other symptoms in addition to flatulence, like heartburn, intense abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation.

Remember, flatulence is very common, and it is not life-threatening. While it may be unpleasant and embarrassing, there are ways to reduce the symptoms and prevent gas. Altering your diet is the best way to avoid gas. It is also helpful to use over-the-counter medicines that aid in digestion and reducing the amount of air swallowed. Also, a person’s enzyme levels tend to decrease with age, so gas may be a more persistent problem as a person ages. But a close eye on diet choices can be successful in the prevention of flatulence.

Food Allergy

What is food allergy and its symptoms?

A food allergy (or hypersensitivity) is an abnormal immune system reaction to a substance in food. While many people often have gas, bloating or another unpleasant reaction to something they eat, this is not an allergic response. This doesn’t involoves immune system and is called “food intolerance”.
Normally, when hostile substances enter the blood, the immune system promptly reacts by producing antibodies to engulf and destroy them. In allergic conditions, however, the immune system reacts with the same hostility to certain ‘innocent’ substances, releasing histamine. This can cause a wide variety of distressing symptoms such as:

Rashes
Swelling of the tongue and the throat
Headaches
Hives
Difficulty Breathing
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Abdominal Cramps
Hypertension
These food allergy symptoms typically appear within minutes to two hours after the person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic.
Causes of Food Allergies

The causes of allergies are not fully known by science, however, it is known that the protein parts of foods and dust can trigger allergies.
Two common causes of food allergies are:
low levels of stomach acid and,
a shortage of certain pancreatic digestive enzymes.
The pancreas secretes enzymes which break down protein into its components, the amino acids. A shortage of these enzymes can result in partly digested protein and it is these protein fragments that can induce food allergies in the intestines which produce not only physical, but also mental, symptoms.
Some common food additives, such as benzoic acid (E210) and tartrazine (El02) are known to cause allergic reactions in people with sensitivities, especially children.
Cure for food allergies

People having food allergies should identify them, and avoid foods that cause allergic reactions.
The most common allergenic foods are cow’s milk, eggs, chocolate, oranges, wheat, cheese, tomatoes, beef and maize, while among the least allergenic foods are rice, peas and avocados. A craving for a specific food can signal a food allergy and the detection of these allergy-causing foods can be done by the ‘pulse test’.

A number of nutrients can alleviate or cure these allergies, including vitamin C and quercetin, both potent antihistamines, vitamin B6, zinc, vitamin E and calcium. In fact, some nutritionists believe that allergies may be caused by nutrient deficiencies.
Epinephrine, also called adrenaline, is the medication of choice for controlling a severe reaction. It is available by prescription as an EpiPen® auto injector.

Dry Skin Remedy

If you are looking for a dry skin remedy, look no farther than your kitchen pantry. You can make a dry skin natural remedy just by combining common foods and applying them to the skin. Some foods act as an internal remedy for dry skin as well. Some of the ingredients that can be used in a home remedy for extremely dry skin are honey, yogurt, olive oil, and oatmeal. Some herb teas are useful, too, as are a variety of other fruits and seeds.

Honey, a dry skin natural remedy, is a substance that is healing to the skin. When applied to the skin it is healing and moisturizing. It helps dead skin cells move from the surface and stimulates renewal and regrowth of skin tissues. It is also antibacterial. In severe cases, you can put honey on skin that needs a bandage. It will keep the bandage from sticking to the wounded skin. Yogurt can be used as a skin cleanser, acting as a natural moisturizer. Oatmeal heals and soothes dry skin, and helps the skin to slough off dead skin cells.

Cold-pressed olive oil works as an emollient, which means it soothes and softens. It helps the itching of eczema, which is a itchy skin condition characterized by oozing lesions. Eczema is sometimes associated with dry skin but not always. Olive oil can also be used on the scalp as a remedy for extremely dry skin and hair. Not only can olive oil be used externally, it is also an internal remedy for dry skin, along with other healthy oils. If you suffer from dry skin, try adding some heathful oils to your diet. It doesn’t take a lot, as oils are very high in calories. Nuts are full of beneficial oil, as are fatty fish, such as salmon and mackerel.

Homemade Skin Whitener

While people claim that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, you would not meet many, who are thoroughly satisfied with themselves. Traditionally, women have been the target audience for beauty product manufactures. However, in the contemporary times, men are equally concerned about their looks and appearance. Talking about beauty, skin tone and color tops the ‘concern’ list. Even after thousands of assertions, the wish to have a lighter skin tone (How I wish I had a skin like her/ him – so fair, so nice, so beautiful) still remains etched in the minds of people, by large. This is where commercialism comes into play.

Starting from the local brands to the international ones, you are likely to find at least one skin whitening product in the range. However, the question is – do these products really work and whiten the skin tone? The answer is best not discussed. The products bought from the market are usually injected with harmful chemicals that make the skin worse, forget about the claims of whitening it. Hair Tips

Brush your hair regularly before going to bed each night.

Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Use very little but enough to cover hair completely with lather. Use a conditioner to keep hair manageable.

Avoid brushing wet hair. This will cause the hair to stretch and finally break. Finger-dry, or use a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush to gently remove the knots.

Restrict blow-drying your hair. The process of blow-drying is harsh on hair as it robs it of moisture.

Avoid dyes. Use mehandi (henna) instead as a conditioner and colouring agent.

Take a calcium supplement or drink two glasses of milk a day.

Always hold hair dryer away from your hair. Direct air from the hair dryer down hair shaft and not directly into the roots and keep it moving.

After a perm, never brush your hair. Instead comb hair gently.

Trim your hair once in 7 weeks to avoid split ends.

Avoid pulling back your hair tightly.

Never use a rubber band on your hair as it can pull and damage hair considerably.

Never go out in the sun without having your head covered.

Stimulate circulation by massaging your head with oil to which some vitamin E has been added. This will make hair soft and silky.

Never wash your hair with very hot or very cold water.

Learn to relax. Hair loss can happen because of stress. Eat foods that are rich in vitamin B, C and E.

Add iron and minerals in the natural form in your diet.

If your hair is oily, cut down on fried food and fat. Drink plenty of water.

How to Grow Eyelashes That Are Longer and Thicker

I’m going to talk about how to grow eyelashes like a pretentious expert because I’ve always been fascinated with people who possess strong, long and thick eyelashes. When I first meet a person, I automatically look into her eyes not only because they are the mirror to her soul but also because I want to silently scrutinize her eyelashes. I can’t necessarily call it a fetish though, it’s just my natural reaction given the fact that my eyelashes are thin and short. I also enjoy looking at mascara ads and asking how in the world is it even possible to grow eyelashes that long and thick. I found out there are several ways to answer this how-to-grow-eyelashes question.

Women and some men have looked for ways on how to grow eyelashes for centuries. Some do it for the purpose of eye protection (lashes were created to protect the eyes from natural tiny debris by giving them a signal to blink when there’s a threat) and most for the enhancement of their physical beauty. I’ve collated some tips I’ve found on how to grow eyelashes naturally and through the aid of eyelash growth products. Here they are:

How to Grow Eyelashes Naturally
promote eyelashes growth by eating healthy
1. Eat healthy and get enough sleep. This is a no brainer. Anyone who eats healthy and sleeps for 8 hours or so can expect to have healthy skin and hair (inlcuding those eyelashes). Cut out those junk foods in your diet, avoid sleeping late and you’re set to go.

2. Take some vitamin and mineral supplements. Research have proven that calcium, Vitamin B-complexand omega-3 fatty acids can help your lashes grow longer , thicker and stronger. If you’re a bit hesitant about taking in pills, you can always merge these vitamins and minerals in your diet. For example, drink milk instead of coffee in the morning and at night, eat fresh fruits and vegetables like carrots, turnips, lettuce and kale, and also eat fish with omega-3-fatty-acids-rich oil.

3. Apply vitamin E oil on your eyelids is also included in this how to grow eyelashes naturally tips. For stronger lashes you may use lubricants like pretroleum jelly and olive oil on them.

How to Grow Eyelashes With the Help of an Eyelash Growth Serum

1. Choose the best eyelash growth product. Among the eyelash enhancers that are favorably talked about are Rimmel Eyelash Accelerator, Li Lash Eyelash Conditioner, RevitaLash Eyelash Conditionerand Latisse. You have to pick one that has convinced you or you may ask your dermatologist for an advice.
2. Apply this eyelash growth serum with one stroke on your upper eyelid once or twice a day, depending on the specific brand’s instructions. If you want to apply mascara over it, make sure to let the product dry first.
3. Apply this eyelash enhancer regularly for a 6 weeks or so. The consistent application is vital. Don’t go applying it randomly at any day in the 45-day period.

Steps to Get a Natural White Skin

Just use 5 following simple tips to get a natural white skin:

1. Sun-cream
Sun-cream is an effective skin-whitening tip which isn’t normally thought about. You should not think that sun-cream’s effect is only to prevent your skin from getting darken by sunlight. The uv and different environmental impacts leave us sunburned skin and increasing melanin rate (Melanin seriously impacts on our skin pigmentation. The more melanin we get, the darker the skin is). Sun-cream prevent the skin from not only uv light but also increasing the melanin rate. If you often use sun-cream for a long time, you will find out its effect.

2. Moisturizing your skin
It seems that moisturizing is unrelated to skin whitening methods we are mentioning to. However it is really important to get a natural white skin. Dry skin brings a darker skin and it is easier to get sunburned. Therefore, moisturizing is a natural way to defend the skin against darkening effects and the moisturizing balance brings a silky smooth skin.

3. Tomatoes
Tomato can bleach, it is a natural raw material for whitening skin. Slice tomato into half and segregate the seeds. Wash your face in circular motion and use your usual soap. Rinse and pat dry. Use tomato in your face circular motion. Leave it into 15 minutes. And if you want to fast whiten you skin you should leave in over night. You can see the result in the first day. Your face will become shine and whiten. You use everyday as a good result.

4. Wheat flour
A healthy skin keeps us far from darkening impacts. Maintaining a soft and resistant skin by wheat flour is a good idea. You should mixture wheat flour and yaourt. Then you apply the mixture on your face from 15-20 minutes. This should be done once a week to keep a healthy skin.

5. Papaya
Papaya is one of nourishing fruits good for hair, skin and digestive system. In addition to eating, you can apply the pureed papaya on your skin. Clean your face with warm fresh water after 20 minutes. This leaves you a natural soft white skin.

Water Therapy

We’re all used to hearing about drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day. Well, this is pretty much a calculated amount. Those 8-10 glasses are what a person on a typical day loses through activity. So those glasses of water are just to maintain your body’s ideal hydration.
Though this 8-10 glasses may vary since different people have different routines. Some may be more physically active or are situated in warmer or colder climates.

A popular therapy nowadays concerning water intake is water therapy. It can be traced back to Chinese and Indian medicine. It involves taking in a liter to a liter and a half of water or even more in an effort to cleanse the body.

The Good

Now taking in a liter of water a day is practically harmless. It even helps in flushing out toxins. Healthy water intake can even help flush out small kidney stones and other harmful mineral build ups in the body. It prevents dehydration.
•It has 0 calories for you calorie-conscious!
•Depending on your climate or physical work you might need more than the proverbial 8 glasses of water.
•Water prevents the development of kidney stones.
•It also prevents dehydration and guards against, headaches, fatigue, and lack of mental awareness.
•Older people (around 65) should make it a habit to drink enough water. At that age, the sense of thirst may not be as strong leading to dehydration.
•Mineral water has some good minerals in them. But if you’re on a low-salt diet, better check if your mineral water contains it. Some of them do.
•Try to create a hydration schedule. Just distribute your eight (or more glasses) along the day.

The Bad

One possible danger of water therapy is the unregulated intake of water. Our body has a natural mechanism of getting rid of excess water. If you take in more water than you could get out, then you are risking a possible fatal condition called hyperhydration or water poisoning. This could result into conditions such as heart failure, stroke or brain damage.

When you reach the point that your body can’t balance out your fluid levels, you are also disrupting the balance of electrolytes. This is why sports drinks contain minerals such as salt to replenish electrolytes that are lost through physical activity.

So a good take on water therapy is to take it in moderation. Always seek professional medical advice before engaging in such “therapies.” Who knows? You might just harm yourself in a blind effort to better yourself.

How to Improve Your Diet through Water Therapy

You never count how many glasses of water you drink everyday even though you’ve always known it should be 6-8. You might think, with all the soda you gulp in a day, that you have all the liquid you need. But choosing water instead of a soda cuts your calories and improves your body nourishment. This a follow-up on a previous post on water therapy. Follow these ways on how you can get back into the water habit.

Take it with you. People who are always on the run end up parched and exhausted. If you identify with this type of lifestyle, being one who’s always on the move, the best thing for you to do is to have a water bottle in your bag. You never know when you need to rehydrate. Whether it’s on a bus or on the elevator, ready water is a lifesaver.

What’s your flavor? Nowadays you can enjoy water in several varieties. If you don’t like the kind you can buy at the grocery store, you can opt for a more natural flavored water by adding a squirt of lemon juice or one-quarter cup of 100 percent fruit juice, with flavor depending on your taste buds.

Conscious effort. Going for a glass of water instead of a soda is so hard to do especially when you dine out where you get a free soda to go with your ordered meal. To lessen the need for soda, ask for a glass of water so you can drink half and half.

Water on your bedside. Not all people do this, but maybe they should. Bringing with you a glass of water when you’re off to bed is another way to ensure you get enough before the day ends. Sometimes in the middle of the night you wake up coughing and with a dry throat. The glass of water on your bedside will save you from getting up in the middle of your sleep.

10 – Take 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Make a paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks, pimples will disappear forever.

11 – Hot fomentation can be applied locally to open up the pores and to bring out the waste matter. The affected parts should then be washed with cold water. Take sun and air baths by exposing the whole body to the sun and air.

12 – Before going to bed apply ice on the face. This will reduce the inflammation and burning sensation on the skin and also help get rid of acne scars.

13 – Mix 1-tablespoon groundnut oil with 1-tablespoon fresh limejuice to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples.

14 – Make a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves. Apply it over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

15 – Slice a lemon in half and rub it on the effected area and leave it over night and rinse your face in the morning or squeeze the juice and mix it with rose water and apply to the effected areas.

16 – Foods with Niacin and vitamin A are also used for the treatment of the acne. It is recommended to take100 mg niacin, three times daily, and 50,000 international units of vitamin A, three times daily. Vitamin E, 400 mg, should be taken once daily. This therapy should be continued for a month.

17 – Garlic has been used successfully in the treatment of acne. Rub raw garlic on the affected skin several times a day, it will help to remove the scars. Chronic forms of acne are also healed by this method.

18 – Take a teaspoon of coriander juice; mix it with a pinch of turmeric powder. It is a very effective home made ointment for pimples and blackheads. The mixture should be applied to the face after thoroughly washing it every night before going to bed. Mint juice can be used in a similar manner as coriander juice.

19 – Juice of raw papaya (including the skin and seed) can also be applied on swelling pimples.

20 – Cornstarch when combined with water can be used as a mask to absorb oil.

21 – Apply a small amount of toothpaste (paste, not gel) on pimples before bed; this helps dry out the pimples.

22 – Fresh limejuice mixed to a glass of boiled milk can be applied to the face as a face wash for pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin.
